kennedy's shift

i had posted this as a comment on yesterday's post, but being the hacker that i am i figured out my mom's password, so i thought i'd just make it a post...so, here ya go:

i'm sitting with my dad at 5am towards the tail end of my "bedtime shift" and i just thought i'd share...i've been playing some music on my laptop and my dad will pat my hand, his leg, or his chest to keep the beat...it's not an incoherent tap, but one that tells me he is thoroughly enjoying (and in his own way, dancing) "the david crowder band"...even though we haven't spoken words, my dad and i have communicated this whole time and would both say that we've enjoyed each other as we lie in a bed that isn't near big enough for the two of us...but we are sitting here hand in hand as if we've been talking about the "good ole days" the whole time...that's the beauty of god...where there are no words, he transcends...where neither of us are able to fully express our thoughts, god intervenes and transcends on our behalf...my dad knows what i want to say and i know what he wants to say...god transcends time and space, and he transcends life and death...he transcends my dad's cancer so that we can lie here together and enjoy each other and i thank him for that.

Kennedy you are H2O... I love that you are giving God the credit He deserves. He is with your dad and He is with you...this moment in life hasn't changed God's character. I trust Him so with all of you. I don't know you personally but your mom never tires of talking about her boys...I believe at this moment God is pointing to the Dean family and saying, those are My kids...oh how much I love them. Please give your mom a hug for me.
love faye

Thank you, Kennedy, for sharing this. My heart aches for you all and yet rejoices in your faith daily. This has made me want to turn back time and know you all better.
